FAQS
Why the change to a mid-week trip?
The Hudson Valley has always been a popular destination for weekend getaways,
especially during the Fall when Mother Nature creates her magnificent color backdrop.
The Covid outbreak sparked even more interest in the Hudson Valley, both as a
weekend destination and as a place to live year-round. As a result, weekend hotel
room rates have skyrocketed post-Covid. For most major hotel brands in the
mid-Hudson Valley, the weekend room rate Is $300+ while the room rate for the
same room is less than $150 Monday - Thursday. Members may wish to take
advantage of the reduced hotel room rates by adding Tuesday or Thursday to
their trip plans.
Why aren't we having dinner at the CIA in Hyde Park on Wednesday?
Unfortunately, all of the restaurants at the CIA are closed to the public on the 18th
for a special event. This year we'll return to Mariner's Harbor on Rondout Creek in
Kingston for dinner.
